Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort is a small family-run resort !

Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort lies on and is named after one of most beautiful beach of Koh Mak. We are one of the pioneers in tourism on our Island. There is 5 km of sandy beach right in front of the resort. The 20 Thai Style Bungalows are built among a lush and many decades old coconut plantation. There is a restaurant and a internet cafe and we have several sporting equipments.

The resort has been welcoming travelers from all over the world for the past 17 years. It is especially liked by European travelers (Scandinavian, German etc). Families and privacy lovers enjoying our safe and natural surroundings. At times it's not easy to find us, as we are not located in the immediate proximity of any pier, but don't worry we will pick you up (see map).

Our father, Khun Somchai Sudhidhanakul, also known as Mr. Sunshine has founded this place 18 seasons ago.

Since Khun Somchai suffered from a stroke in 2009 he asked his children to take over. Lucky him there are 8 of us: Yodchai, Yodying, Christian, Pueng, Kwan, Sai, Jom Jam, and Pom Paem. This is episode II and our season 2.

All our rates are including breakfast. We do have a Kids Stay for Free policy under 6 years old. Most of the activities are free, so is the transfer from and to the piers at Koh Mak.

Staying Connected and some of the other things you might want to know before you come :

We don’t provide a phone/fax service, however, please feel free to use our complimentary internet access to keep in touch with your loved ones. We have Skype installed on the computer. Your mobile phone should work around here as all Thai mobile operators (AIS, DTAC, True Move) have a network on the island.

Koh Mak is an unspoilt island that has maintained its natural charm and beauty. The island is owned by several families who ensure the island develops in a sustainable way. At Koh Mak we follow the idea of ecotourism and have added hiking trails, diving schools and other worthwhile tourism developments.

 

Thai Massage and Wellness. Naturally we provide Thai Massage services for all our guests.

You may want receive a massage right on the beach, here we have built a little Sala (a covered wooden deck) where you and your travel companion can receive Thai, Oil and Herbal Stamp Massage Treatments, or by appointment in your bungalow.

For all things Massage we work closely with our German Wellness associates, Asiense, Thai Massage and Wellness, located in Dortmund, Germany.

Our team

Our small little resort has a very dedicated team to make sure you enjoy your stay as much as possible.

Khun Chain, will be the center of all your contacts and activities around Ao Kao.
Khun Yaeh, makes sure that your rooms are clean and all team members are looked after.
Khun Noi makes sure that even the early birds among our guest do get something to eat in the morning before they leave.
Khun Kwan, Khun Baeng will welcome you at our counter.
Khun Paeng and her kitchen team is responsible for the quality and taste of our food.
And then there is Lung Gnar, the local morning "Caruso" of the resort. He looks after our 5 cows and keeps the beach clean.

Like our father some of us studied in Europe, so we learned how important breakfast, real coffee, fresh orange juice and good bedsheets are for our guest.
